Death by “Out of Date” patch
Well not really, but as most of you are aware with the release of patch 2.2, any add-on lover like myself was bummed to see some of the best mods go away. Well, it took 3 hours of solid research and trial/error to finally get mine back to normal and even better.
The following list is compiled to help you find out what addons you might need and the ones you must have for raiding. All the addon names are clickable to the details/download page.
Bagnon:
Very good addon which combines your bag into one big interface. Light on memory and integrats with other tools Addons.
Bartender3:
A set of containers that allow you to remove the old boring button interface. Very customizable and can be moved around the page to create your own layout. Works with cyCircled for different style (like the circles in the screenshot)
Cartographer:
The best replacement for the built-in map with support for tracking herbs/minerals in addition to inspecting boss drops in dungeons.
Nature Enemy Cast Bar:
Very useful for raids/dungeons as shows cooldowns on various debuffs that your team has applied on mobs and will provide warnings when a debuff (e.g Polymorph) is about to expire. Also shows countdowns your team members have when clicked on.
Deadly Boss Mods:
A must install for raids as it contains boss specific alerts and warnings. I recommend everyone downloads this.
Elkano’s BuffBars:
Like you see in the screenshot on the top right, the bars show what buffs and debuffs have been cast on you with proper countdowns on all of them.
Omen Threat Meter:
Way ahead of KTM in both look and functionality. Very advanced TPS detection system and it still syncs with anyone who has KTM. I recommend it highly.
Outfitter:
Brilliant tool to quickly swap between armor sets. Works very well too to reduce repair cost by going naked right before a wipe
Scrolling Combat Text:
If you use the one that comes with the game, ditch it and get this one. Much better.
simpleMinimap:
Brilliant replacement to the built in WOW map. Can be adjusted to different sizes and can be moved around.
SunnArt:
Adds the bottom and top bars on the page which can be skinned to add a bit of a layout. This is really good to give you some space to put addons with a solid background color. Check it out on the screenshot.
Titan Panel:
Top and bottom bars which have a lot of built-in features and extra plugins. Very useful. (Similar to Fubar)
Warcraft Instant Messenger:
As per the screenshot, adds a floating chat box which maintains historical conversations.
XPerl:
Adds a 3d dynamic user profile image to you and your entire party/target/NPCs. Has a lot of brilliant raid features that help use colors to highlight who’s holding/stealing agro. Definitely recommended.
