Feed, me bruddahs!
One more boss added to the list of killed bosses. In addition to Nalorakk in Zul’Aman, Akil’zon now joins the death list.
Our old friend and one of the original SoL members Bushkiller pugged with us on this one. Some pretty nice loot from both Nalorakk and Akil’Zon. We also brought along the top DPS to be able to pull this off. Quite the nasty encounter.
[item]Fury of the Ursine[/item] went to Emrys
[item]Brooch of Nature’s Mercy[/item] went to FireHeart
Congrats to all! We still have to beat the timer though. Daddy wants his fancy shoulder drop. O_o
In-Game Raid Management
Hey Crew,
Again, with the upcoming raids, it seems better to use an in-game system that is directly accessible to everyone without the heartache of having to go online to check raids (the current system). We will be implementing GEM (Guild Event Manager) which you should all install using this link here.
Once you unzip the folder into your Add-ons directory, please follow those instructions in-game.
- Type /gem toggle to load the screen (you will use this every time to load the interface and I suggest you bind it to a key or a macro)
- You will join a dedicated chat room for that channel (which Kara groups can replicate separately by creating their own channels)
- You’re done! You can click back on Events to view the scheduled raids and you click on the one you want to attend and “Subscribe” to it.
- If the raid is full, you will be put in queue and the officers can review if your attendance is required.
Thanks for reading. Please make sure you all migrate to the new system as the online subscription tool will be taken down in the following 2 weeks.
Best regards,
ElixilE
Guild Meeting – 09/02/2008
Hello Guildren,
Thanks for everyone who participated last night and for the proactive effort everyone put to move this forward. The following were the key points of the discussion:
- The guild will be renamed to SoL effective directly after the move.
- The move is scheduled to happy on Monday 11/02/2008. Members will leave the guild, start the new formation and invite whoever decides to move with us.
- Ejectseat will remain the Guild Master with the following roles in the structure:
- Officers –> Responsible for raid arrangements and guild related matters
- Class Leaders –> Dedicated class members who will work towards helping other players gear up, or scope out other potential new players. Votes on CL are currently happening on each separate class forum.
- Raiders –> A group of people that need to meet certain criteria which allows them to join for 25-man raids. This will be chosen by the officers. A formal raiding policy will be shared by the officers once the move is complete.
- Members –> Casual
- Trialist
- Alt
- In relation to point 3, members who are interested in PVP will not be left behind but can join and be active members of SoL.
- The original guild will be kept with a couple of twinks in order to utilize the already bought Bank Slots.
- Upon completion of the move, a policy on recruitment will be established after assessing what the guild still needs for a smooth transition into 25-mans. Recruitment will also be locked down to Level 70 unless it’s an alt.
- Officers will need to look into a loot distribution system to minimize any issues that might happen during raids.
Please post if I’ve missed anything.
Regards,
Elixile
It’s time for a change
Hey guys,
A lot of change has been happening for the past of couple of months and it’s very obvious that there is an eager team of superb players who wants progression. It’s been a great season the past of couple of months with a lot of players gearing up with heroics and Karazhan loot but I think we’ve hit a road block and this is not enough for us anymore.
It’s time for a change.
A new initiative lead by Elixile, Ejectseat, Zlayazaya and Nelrage will start to take effect in the next coming weeks. We will be setting up a new Raid Focused/Casual PVP guild under the name of “Sol” (might change) which will build on a new structure to help us manage all the players and take care of improving everyone’s experience in playing this game. We will setup a much more coherent structure that will dictate roles of players since I’m sure a lot of us have a lot more to offer than just DPS in dungeon runs. Be it website maintenance, guild bank maintenance, class leaders to advice others on gear and so forth. We still did not finalize the layout but we’re getting there.
This process will help us eliminate the clutter of inactive players that haven’t come online in ages in addition to giving us a fresh start which I think we all need. This does not mean that we will leave you behind if you don’t want to raid. We like the family we’ve built here and we really want all of you on the ride with us. We want you on this ride and we will not let any of you go because each one of you has done a lot for the guild in addition to being so loyal to the spirit we had in terms of keeping it entertaining and kicking some major ass in developing as players.
This will come in effect in the next couple of days and I think we will need approximately two weeks to settle fully into place.
Thank you for your patience and we promise some really good days ahead. 2008 will be the year of the pregnant man…..or at least…forget it….
Master Herb Ninja,
Elixile
Three Kara Groups
It’s been ages since I’ve posted since nothing exciting has been going on, but last night we added two new kills to our list, Nightbane and Netherspite, which clears technically for the guild as a whole. In addition, we have Sherlyn leading a third group which is great. Pictures below.
The second try on Gruul’s Lair is scheduled for this Sunday the 13th. If you havent signed up, please login to the forum and go to the Raid Calendar to add your attendance. Please also note that we are still in need of restoration Druids and Shamans.
Cheers!
